I see myself as an Agent of the Goddess, a Priestess at the altars of transformation.

I am a post menopausal mother and grandmother. I was an intensive care and operating theatre nurse, and a homebirth midwife for 30 years. Now my work focuses on teaching the Women’s Mysteries and writing about them. I give workshops on mother and daughter preparation for menstruation, the spiritual practice of menstruation, and the sacred and shamanic dimensions of pregnancy, birth and menopause. I founded and run The School of Shamanic Womancraft, an international Women’s Mystery School.

Four Seasons Journey

The Four/Eight Seasons Journey is a one-year or two-year immersion into the Women’s Mysteries and the philosophy and practice of Shamanic Womancraft.

Come join us in Mexico for two rounds of transformative one-day workshops, held in two beautiful locations: Tulum and Mexico City. Together, we’ll sit in circle, reconnecting with and reclaiming feminine knowledge, wisdom, and power. The workshops will be held in English, and while there will be supportive Spanish-speaking participants who can assist with translation when needed, a basic understanding of English will be essential. Please note that this assistance is limited and won’t cover every word spoken. At the 36th Annual Australian Homebirth Conference

At the 36th Annual Australian Homebirth Conference, I gave a presentation titled Are Birth Outcomes Random, or Are There Clues? I shared the core work of Shamanic Womancraft, which is the work of a Shamanic Womancraft practitioner: understanding a red thread inheritance, the effects of our birth imprint, childhood trauma, and our rites of passage pattern. When we understand the influence of all these factors on our lives, our birth experiences no longer seem so random. @homebirth_australia

The first Home Birth Conference I went to, I was 26 years old. Now, at 66 years old, I see what a blessing it’s been to be part of this community over the years. Such a blessing. #hbacon2024

We sat together in circle, as we do at each Homebirth Conference. We created a safe and sacred container and shared from our hearts. All is not well in student midwifery. They feel unsupported and unable to practise midwifery in the way they want to and know is right, which is the reason they entered this profession. Many may never witness a spontaneous physiological birth during their training (the same goes for doctors). The attrition rate for student midwives is skyrocketing, and the vicarious trauma is immense. Student midwives are the future, and we need to care for them. Let’s create a global student midwife circle, regularly… Who’s in? #hbacon2024

The Winter Woman, Bone Wisdom workshop in Mullumbi

The Winter Woman, Bone Wisdom workshop in Mullumbimby was the biggest ever. Fifty women co-created the village for a day—a circle of all generations, from baby to Crone. We honoured our five precious Crones (women over 70) by weaving a crown for each of them. We held a crowning ceremony and sat at their feet to hear their wisdom. We explored our imprints and fears about ageing. We considered our mortality, preparing for death, and how we want to be remembered. And we drummed, danced, and ate cake. It was a beautiful day in circle. @woven.in

The Autumn Woman, Harvest Queen workshop in Mullum

The Autumn Woman, Harvest Queen workshop in Mullumbimby was the biggest one ever, with nearly 70 women sitting in circle together, seeking to understand menopause from a perspective different to the mainstream medical model, which would have us believe that menopause is a disease of hormone deficiency. In seeking to understand, we explored menopause in context—within the culture, the cycles, and our own personal lives. Then it all makes sense! Menopause is a transformational rite of passage.

We set up for a big workshop: Autumn Woman Harvest Queen in Mullumbimby. This is Linda @woven.in. She also teaches this workshop in Melbourne now. Other teachers offer this workshop in different locations. That day, we gathered with many women, some local and some travelling from afar, to learn how to harness the transformational powers of menopause and to understand menopause in context rather than seeing it as a medical issue or a hormonal deficiency. What we did that day was see menopause in the context of culture, in the context of cycles, and in the context of our own personal lives. It was a very powerful workshop, where light was shed on what’s often kept in the dark to keep us scared. There is nothing to fear with menopause; it is something to claim. We had a lovely day with the 60+ women who sat in circle.
