47 Women gathered in circle in the assembly rooms again to go deep into menopause, to learn about it and reclaim it from its bad reputation in our world.
Which of course is a clue! Anything to do with women or the feminine that’s put down, feared, made into a joke or made invisible is a clue that it holds great power. We are renaming perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause – Sagescence, the next major transformation after Adolescence followed by Matrescence and then Sagescence … Obvious! We learned about Menopause in the context of our culture, menopause in the context of cycles and menopause in the context of our own personal lived experiences. Because as I always say, menopause is not some random event, it’s the rebirth of us into the wise women version of ourselves and hence requires some letting go and healing, all of which are actually probably predictable since it’s the result of our lives so far! This gives women for whom menopause is in the distance a good opportunity to prepare. And for those of us in it and beyond it an opportunity to really understand what came up and why. The clue is… Ask of all your experiences whether they are physical, emotional, psychological, or spiritual… How does this serve my transformation? Let’s be the women the Earth needs now! We uncovered the patterns and themes of our lives that were created by previous rites of passage, found our red thread, and began to figure out how to work with these patterns rather than be worked by them.
