What can we do?
At this full moon, when everything feels and is more intense when I look at the state of the culture, humanity, the other animals, the ecosystem, the planet, the wars, the terrible ways humans treat each other and the other animals and the Earth, I wonder what can we do…..
And so, I thought about the main questions that women ask me:
The most common questions besides- how did you get to do what you’re doing now?
are:
How to start and what to do when you’re just awakening to feminine power – (my answer is to track your menstrual cycle)
How to prepare for childbirth.
How to recover from birth trauma.
How to manage a miscarriage naturally.
How to work with the menstrual cycle consciously.
How to prepare for menopause.
How to cope with menopause.
How to heal your red thread.
How to navigate their current life.
How did we all get into this situation? – menstrual cycle pathology, 1:3 women with birth trauma, 1:10 women having PTSD from their birth experiences, less than 50% normal vaginal birth, and medication and medical management of the menstrual cycle, childbirth, and menopause?
So, how did we get into this situation? How did it get like this?
As the Buddha ‘said’ (paraphrased) – if you want to understand where you are look where you’ve come from. If you want to know where you’re going look where you are.
Read Herstory.
To me, these commonly asked, and unasked, questions clearly outline some things that need to be done.
I see that those questions come from a place of disconnection and ignorance about the female body and her natural processes and where one fits in Nature.
So, what are the main things we need to do right now?
In my humble opinion, we need to:
* Awaken from the patriarchal slumber spell and get into the ‘driver’s seat’ of our life.
* Be fully present in our body.
* Connect with the Earth and the cycles.
* Live according to the cycles – this will increase our well-being, and improve our health and our mental health.
* Be Earth Keepers, look after the Earth and the animals, grow food.
* Understand where we have come from, find out about our parent’s, grandparent’s and our ancestor’s stories and what traumas we unconsciously inherited and are living and passing on?
* Heal the menstrual cycle, practice the spiritual practice of menstruation. (READ BLOOD RITES HERE)
* Understand the effects of a rite of passage and how to heal our past rites – our birth, first sexual experience, every pregnancy and birth and menopause. (READ ‘THE RED THREAD’ HERE)
* Practice conscious rites of passage – birth, menarche, first sexual experience, childbirth, menopause, eldership and death – for women and men.
READ ‘INTRODUCING SAGESCENE’ HERE
* Understand the effects of our childhood trauma and what default behaviours that created, and do our inner child healing work.
* Listen to the great great grandchildren. “What did you do dear ancestor when the shit hit the fan?” We are the future ancestors, what sort of ancestor do you want to be? How will you answer the question – “what did you do?” – that time in NOW.
We are creating the future, every day, and so often, we are repeating the past.
Things need to change on every level.
Figure out your sphere of influence and show up there as your best self to work with others to create community and live as close to a ‘village’ as you can co-create.
Humans need this.
There are many often quoted warnings and prophecies about the change ahead, that’s happening now – off the top of my head…
Michel Odent – The way we are born determines our capacity to love and be loved.
The Hopi People – When the women give their blood back to the Earth, men will come home from war and Earth shall find peace.
Dalai Lama – The world will be saved by Western women.
And so many more…
It’s been called the Return of the Divine Feminine.
More than anything, it’s so obvious what needs to happen – we need to reclaim our nature – ie our body and our connection to all nature, and live in harmony on the planet and with all beings, including each other.
May it be so.
